Studies

The duration of the degree programme is four terms and is rated with 120 Credit points.

 

It consists of nine modules that cover five disciplines:

  1. Introductory module 'Poles and Germans in Europe'
  2. Historical background
  3. Polish and German linguistics or literary and cultural studies
  4. Political and legal background
  5. Polish and regional studies/German as a foreign language and regional studies

 

In the third term at the UAM in Poznań, you will choose one of the following subjects as your main focus of attention to prepare your master's thesis:

  •       Eastern European History
  •       German or Polish linguistics
  •       German or Polish literary and cultural studies

 

At the same time, you will improve your knowledge of Legal and Political Sciences during your term abroad and train your language skills as well as your cultural competency. In the summer semester, there will be additional lectures and / or field excursions, dealing with topics such as architecture and art history of the German-Polish border region as well as intercultural communication. 

Your internship in Poland following your term abroad will complete your qualification profile and will offer an insight into possible working sectors. In the forth term you will write your master's thesis, which, in the ideal case, will be mentored by professors from both universities.
